Tanzania Trip

I love to travel and to taste new types of food. It was my first visit to Tanzania. It was my business trip. It is my souvenir tour to Tanzania. Journey started from New Delhi Airport. After check in and immigration I proceeded to gate no.15. Flight was Qatar Airways. One of the best airways I had experienced. Cabin crew was very friendly. Five star service in the air. The best thing I tasted in Aircraft was French Red Wine I still can remember the taste. Food was delicious. Service was very good. After having my food it was 1 hour and 30 minutes passed in flight. 

                                After 1 hour flight landed at Doha International Airport where my Father was waiting for me. He had gone to Sudan for business trip. We met at the Airport. Then together we departed for Tanzania. It took 5 hours from Doha to reach Dar E Salaam capital of Tanzania.After landing we filled our on arrival visa form. Cost of the visa is US Dollar 50 for holiday and US Dollar 200 for business trip.

                                It was little hot in Dar E Salaam. We took taxi to reach our hotel. In the evening Mr. Ramesh came to us who is our marketing agent. We met him first time with the reference of Mr. Dhiru Bhai who is living in England. Dhiru Bhai is my Father's friend. At night we went to had our dinner in Indian restaurant with Mr. Ramesh. Next morning he took us to the business market. Where we met some people to introduce our products. That day we spent in the market. 

                       In the evening Ramesh took us to the Gym Khana club. It is very big and good club. People love to play Tennis, Snooker, Billiards etc in the club. Ramesh also plays good Snooker. We had our drinks. Bellantine Scotch whisky and Tusker Beer is very good and popular in Dar E Salaam. Non Veg snacks were very delicious.

               Till Friday our routine was same morning in the market and evening in the club. So now only 1 evening of Friday and two days Saturday and Sunday were left for some entertainment. In the evening of Friday my Father felt tired. So he stayed in the hotel. I asked my Father for me to have some entertainment. He said you can go with Ramesh but be safe. 

                                       I asked Ramesh is there anything to enjoy for youngsters. He said a lot. We went for dance in the discotheque.

That night I enjoyed very much. I danced with African girls. They dance very well. At 2:30 AM we returned back to our hotel.

              Next morning Ramesh and his two friends took us to had some entertainment on the beach. We reached to the harbour. We entered in a fairy with our car to go to the other side of the sea. Fairy was full of cars. see the video

We collected some eatable things from market. Ramesh's friend was having a beach house on the beach. I enjoyed cooking on the beach. I cooked lemon chicken. It was finger licking good taste as Ramesh and his friend said. Full day we enjoyed there. We spent our night in that house. 

                           Next day in the noon we came back from there. Now we had to get ready for our flight to return back to home. Its a little sad that i missed the Jungle Safari in Tanzania. Perhaps we get business there so that we could visit Tanzania again.

If I get a opportunity again to visit Tanzania then my first visit will be Jungle safari for what whole Africa is famous. Take a look at visa of Tanzania.

Kalmi Kabab with Butter Naan

Hello my dear friends,
Today I am going to share a food that tastes better with Coca Cola.
Its name is Kalmi Kabab with Butter Naan. 
                                        Once I was sitting in My friend's house afternoon. It was the month of January in 2012. It was very chill outside. The temperature was approx. 5 or 6 degree. So we were having our Russian vodka. After finishing our drinks we felt little hungry. I asked my friend to bring some snacks. He ordered to a restaurant, 1 portion of kalmi kabab i.e 4 pieces and two butter naan.
        After 25 minutes a man came to his house with a bag in his hands to deliver our snacks. In the mean time we had one more drink. We opened bag to have our snacks to kill our hunger. As I took small portion of Kalmi Kabab with butter naan oh it was very delicious. Although it was dry but its combination was making it very juicy. 
                    By the way I am also a chef but this type of food I tasted first time. So I went to the restaurant's chef to ask recipe. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients:-
8 pieces chicken thighs 
1/2 tbsp ginger paste
1/2 tbsp garlic paste
1 tsp cashew nut paste
1/2 cup yogurt
1 tsp white pepper powder
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp red chilly powder
 Salt to taste

Method
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl leave for 3 hours. Put skewer into the chicken and roast the marinated chicken over a grill or in a clay oven for 12-15 minutes.
Note:- Chicken tastes better when cooked in clay oven or on charcoal.
Butter Naan recipe:-
To make 8 Butter Naans
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup plain yogurt
2 tbsp hot water
1/2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 egg
1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
Method:-
In a bowl add all these ingredients and make a dough. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest until double in volume about 4 hours. Punch down the dough knead for a minute and divide into 8 equal portions.With a rolling pin, quickly roll out each ball into a 5 inch round. With your fingers, stretch each round into a 5-7 inch oval. Put max 4 balls in one time in the oven.

Puducherry Trip, Tamilnadu, India

It was September of 2012 when we decided to explore South India. We planned our trip to go to Puducherry, Tamilnadu. It was my dream to explore Puducherry once in a life. Where the movie "Jism" was directed. We started our journey from New Delhi Railway Station. Trains are one of the best way to explore India. Name of the train is Tamilnadu Express. Time of the train was 21:35 to leave the station. Journey was great. Here are some Pictures of journey.

After reaching at the Station we took taxi Toyota Innova for Puducherry. Distance from chennai to Puducherry is approx. 200 Km. But roads are very good and wide. We reached in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

When we reached Puducherry we saw the touch of France the scene was totally diffrent. It seemed like we are not in India. Its  another country. Buildings were little diffrent. So much foreigners were there. Dress of the Police man was diffrent. It was like french Police. We reached our hotel took some rest. In the evening we went to sea side to have some sea food. what a taste it was I can still remember.

                            Next morning we woke up early to watch 

 some activities on the sea side. Some foreigners and Indian were doing exercise. We took bike to explore the city.

                                           In the evening we reached at the sea side  where the movie Jism was directed. It was great location. See some pics.

Next day we planned to have some back water activities. It was also good. A small boat or speed boat take you to the back water.

That full day we enjoyed there.

                               Next day was the day to visit Auroville city. The city that surroundings the Jungle. So many trees and crops. Foreigners were having their farming business. Restaurants are very good. We  had a french Non-Veg lunch in the restaurant. It was so delicious. Here are some pics. of the city.   

Next day we returned back to the Chennai Air Port for our flight to New Delhi. It was great tour. This is one time must go place. Thank you.

Trip to Narkanda, Himachal Pardesh, India

  

As my blog profile tells that, I love to travel and cook food. Cooking at various places is my hobby. This time it was Narkanda, Himachal Pardesh. Narkanda is a place which was under forest department in its earlier time. More than 200 years old cedar trees are standing here with dignity. It is located at the altitude of 10000 feet above from sea level. In winters its view looks like Switzerland. It is approximately 65 kilo meters away from Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pardesh. The drive is about 2 - 2:30 minutes depending upon the traffic at shimla. There are some good hotels and rest houses where you can spend your night

The day was 30th December of 2012. We were four relatives planned a two nights and three days trip to Narkanda. Because I love to cook, we decided to cook into the forests of Narkanda. We assembled some utensils and put a portable gas cylinder in our Tata Safari. We purchased raw chicken, onions, tomatoes and some spices to cook masala chicken. We sat in our car and moved towards to Narkanda. It was around 19:00 when we reached to Kufri. It was evening now, we couldn't reach to Narkanda. We decided to stay in Kufri. Kufri is also a famous tourist destination in Himachal Pardesh. Because it was 30th December so this place was full packed. People were coming to celebrate new year night. We thought what will happen if we couldn't get a room in hotel. We talked to hotel manager, if there are two rooms vacate. He said you are lucky, today we got cancellation from our customer. We did not think anything and took the keys of rooms at once. We booked this hotel for two nights We parked our car in the parking of hotel. After dinner we went to sleep.

Next morning we woke up at 08:00. The view of morning was just beautiful. After one hour we finished our breakfast and moved towards to Narkanda. On the way we faced some problems with the road. Road is good but it was covered with snow and it is very difficult to drive on snow. My brother has a very good experience of driving. He knows how to drive on snow. After one and half hour of drive we reached to our destination. This place is nothing less than paradise. Whole place was covered with the sheet of snow. Air was so chilled and fresh.  We searched an empty place where we could sat our open kitchen. We parked our SUV on road side and started cooking. The joy of cooking in mountains is awesome. People  passing through that place were watching us. They were doing good comments on us. After one hour of waiting our dish "Masala Chicken"  was ready. It was very delicious in taste. It was finger licking good. I can still remember the taste of chicken. Quantity of chicken was too much, we couldn't finish it. We did some trekking and camp fire. We spent about 3-4 hours there. Now the noon was turning into evening. We tucked our things, put in our safari and moved back to our hotel. On the way we met some people who were came from New Delhi. We offered them chicken they ate and extolled our recipe.    

    

In the evening we reached to our hotel. We did some rest. It was New Year Night. The atmosphere of the hotel was set to celebrate that night. Party started at 20:00 with light music and hard drinks. We entered in the party and enjoyed so much. Everybody was dancing and celebrating the New Year. When it was 24:00, all lights switched off and a song started by the name of Happy New Year. Everyone wished New Year to one another.


Next morning we left our hotel and headed for our home. We decided to go from another route. Again we purchased some raw chicken and spices to cook lemon chicken. After reaching "Kumar Hatti" we took left turn from here towards Nahan. The road was good and new. Traffic was very low on that route. Scenes of nature on this route were very beautiful. We stopped our car at an empty place. Wind was very fast, we couldn't burn the gas cylinder. We put cylinder in the back of our SUV to cook lemon chicken. After 30 minutes it was ready to enter in our stomach. When you cook something in an open place, its fragrance spreads all around. Because of this fragrance it attracted some dogs. When we finished it, we left the bones for dogs. After spending some time we moved for our house. This was my memorable trip with my relatives.

Some Tips
1. Book a hotel in advance specially in peak season.
2. Release some air pressure from tires to drive on snow.
3. Drive carefully in mountains.
4. Its your duty to stub fire after burn it in forests.     

Cool Drink To Hangout with, Majito

Its me, hello all my readers. I love to travel and like to explore new places. I am a good cook also I love to do experiments with food and discover a new taste. But its summers here so let us try some thing new to kill summers.    

Hot hot hot its 16th of May. Sun is on full fire. Rises at 5:30 AM and sets at 7:05 PM. Shining at the temperature of 42 degree. Its really hot. People will love to have a cool drink. So why to wait. Let us make a drink.

Take some leaves of mint, 1 tea spoon lemon juice, a pinch of pepper and salt. Mix & mash all these ingredients in a glass. Now put full ice with Sprite (product of Coca Cola Company). Take a sip and relax on the beach ,on river side or on pool side. Really refreshing drink.

This image was taken on the Bangkok, Pattaya highway. Very neat and clean highway. Mini cabs runs on the speed at 120 Km/h. 

MBK mall in Bangkok very big very beautiful good for shopping of branded products. Their are some good restaurants also so that u can have some meals after u tired.
